Absorb Skincare

September 18, 2018

One of the many things I love about blogging is connecting with new skincare companies and trying new products! Kelly Gray created Absorb Skincare out of sheer love for skincare products and a passion for the healing power of plants. She struggled with skincare issues for many years, which motivated her to become an esthetician and ultimately start making her own products. Hellllloooo dream job! Each product is hand made in small batches with the highest quality and ethically sourced ingredients like wild crafted and organic plant essential oils, unrefined plant butters, and oils – importantly, these beautiful products do not contain ingredients that will clog your pores (if you have acne-prone, oily skin like me, you KNOW how important that is when it comes to your skincare products). NEVER tested on animals either.

In addition to creating beautiful products, Absorb Skincare has a pretty amazing mission too, which I truly admire. Their reusable cosmetic bags are handmade from organic cotton by women in India through an organization called Freeset, which is a fair-trade business offering employment to women who are trapped in the Kolkata’s sex trade. Also, they strive to make everything as eco-friendly as possible – their product cards are made with 100% cotton from the leftover waste fabric from the production of t-shirts.

The mist

I love a good toner and this one did not disappoint! Like most of Absorb Skincare’s products, The Mist is perfect for all skin types. I love using it after I’ve cleansed my face and before applying The Face Oil or The Balm. It is absolutely amazing for dehydrated skin, and feels so refreshing on my skin. One of my favorite parts – it only has one ingredient. 100% Organic Rose Geranium Hydrosol. It’s as pure as it can get!

The face oil

The Face Oil was specifically designed for acne prone, sensitive skin, but it is great for all skin types. Its ingredients are high in antioxidants, vitamins and omegas, which will leave your skin feeling moisturized and looking refreshed. Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Maracuja Oil are high in linoleic acid, which makes this face oil ideal for those with oily, acne-prone skin. People with oily, acne-prone skin tend to be deficient in linoleic acid, so to compensate, the skin creates more sebum. Therefore, plant oils high in linoleic acid are great for evening out sebum production and healing acne.

the balm

You could call The Balm a miracle oil, because it’s just that good! Key ingredients like Black Cumin and Tamanu are some of the best oils to treat acne and help with acne scars. Although it was developed for acne prone skin, it is also great for those with dry and irritated skin too. I like to use it after The Mist on its own, or combine it with The Face Oil. You really can’t go wrong with how you use it, but I do recommend using it at night since it goes on heavy. It is incredibly soothing and calming – also, a little goes a long way!

From the elegant packaging to the wildcrafted organic ingredients, Absorb Skincare products are pure luxury. The product sizes are also generous, so you’ll get to enjoy them for a long time. Be sure to check out this amazing brand!
